Grant D. Hogue, MD, Attending Orthopedic Surgeon, Boston Children’s Hospital and Instructor of Orthopedic Surgery, Harvard Medical School discusses marijuana and fracture healing. As marijuana legalization becomes more prevalent and opioid use is discouraged, it is likely that more of our patients will turn to marijuana. But how well has it been studied in our population? Does it impair fracture healing? Dr. Hogue discusses his own group’s investigations as well as future directions that are needed in order to better understand this issue.
