Jonathan Wachs Takes His Cannabis Practice From Offit Kurman To Dickinson Wright Washington, D.C. Office as a Member

Dickinson Wright is pleased to announce that Jonathan Wachs has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a Member.

Jonathan provides strategic counseling and operational advice to clients in the areas of intellectual property, commercial transactions, corporate governance, and the legal cannabis industry. He is a well-recognized resource on cannabis-related licensure, operations, compliance and business transactions. Jonathan has worked with many cannabis industry applicants, operators and other stakeholders to navigate the rules and processes relating to specific state cannabis programs. He also has facilitated numerous business transactions involving the sale, purchase, and combination of integrated cannabis cultivation, processing, and dispensary businesses. In addition, Jonathan works closely with clients to develop, register, analyze, enforce, and transfer intellectual property assets. He conducts intellectual property audits through which clients learn the nature and value of their intellectual property assets and the steps needed to protect such assets from misappropriation or dilution. In addition, Jonathan has served as outsourced general counsel for rapidly changing companies in a wide variety of industries.

He is on the Board of Directors for KIPP Baltimore, an innovative K-8 charter school program that prepares students for high-aspiration careers, and Operation Walk Maryland, a private, not-for-profit, volunteer medical service organization that provides free surgical treatment for patients in developing countries and the U.S.

Jonathan received his B.A. from The University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from The American University Washington College of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
