The Des Moines Register reports

A group of Iowa hemp businesses and industry advocates is gearing up to file a federal lawsuit against the state’s new law regulating edibles and THC-infused drinks.

And they plan to sell a special product line to help fund the suit.

The group, calling itself the Iowa Hemp Alliance, will seek an injunction to block the law as its effective date of July 1 approaches, they told brewers and retailers in a call Thursday morning. The planned lawsuit comes after the state’s plan to enforce House File 2605 was criticized by brewers as unclear and a misinterpretation of the law.

The group has been consulting with Matt Kamps, a Chicago-based partner at Husch Blackwell who focuses on intellectual property and cannabis law.
