Classic Homemade Hemp Milk Recipe:
3-4 cups filtered water
1 cup hemp hearts (1/2 cup will create a thinner milk)
sea salt or Himalayan salt, not necessary (enhances the flavor and adds additional trace minerals)
options for sweetening and flavoring in the post and video
NUTRITION: hemp seeds are a complete plant based protein, which is quite rare, containing all 20 amino acids, including the 9 essential amino acids our body cannot produce on it’s own. Plus hemp seeds are a great source of omega-3 and 6 essential fatty acids including GLA a fatty acid that has been shown to support hormone balance. Hemp is also a great source of fiber, vitamin E and several minerals including phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, sulfur, calcium, iron and zinc. We can skip the soaking with hemp seeds as they contain no phytic acid, the mineral-binding anti-nutrient common to most nuts, seeds, grains, and legumes
