This should come as no surprise to anyone considering the Governor’s signing statement and the gross deficiencies and inequities in the recent hemp law, but a lawsuit has been filed against the State and relevant State agencies to prevent the implementation.
This law had good intentions but was remarkably flawed. The legislators trying to tackle this problem have their hearts in the right place, but the toothpaste is out of the tube and there needs to be some balance of interest. Some of the stakeholders involved here really burned bridges and it will be interesting to see how cleanup legislation evolves.
