Anthony Grant was charged with drug and dishonesty-related offences following a raid of a Melbourne property late last week, according to the first reports in The Age and Herald Sun.

Grant faced the Melbourne Magistrates Court from the Melbourne Remand Centre, where a bail application was heard behind closed doors. Members from the Bar Council were reportedly in attendance.

Officers at Prahran’s Crime Investigation Unit charged Grant with trafficking in ketamine and 1,4 Butanediol, a solvent substance that is converted into the illicit drug GHB once ingested.

He was also charged with possessing a litany of other drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, and ecstasy, and possessing Sildenafil, a poison used for erectile dysfunction.

Further charges include possessing identification documents in someone else’s name, having a stolen debit card in his possession, and failing to comply with a police direction.

Grant’s lawyers attempted to have his identity suppressed, but this was successfully fought by media in attendance.
